Perfect example of today's society, you're being approached by a shark in a possible life or death situation and your friend says "Film it!".

I had a similar experience with a tiger shark while kayaking. Based on length of kayak, we estimated the shark was about 12 or 13ft. It nudged my kayak with its nose once, then went back down deeper and we didn't see it again. It was pretty awesome!

Shark attacks are actually pretty rare despite what the media leads people to believe.

When you think about it, there really isn't much you can do. If it decides to flip you over and attack, the phone in your hand isn't gunna make it any worse. At least this way if he chooses to not attack then you have some cool footage.

We're SO lucky with all our wildlife in Australia! These bats can carry a variation of rabies though (not proper rabies, we don't have rabies in Australia), so we're told not to touch them or feed them in the way we tend to with our parrots & other native animals, instead we just enjoy looking at their adorable faces & then cursing them in the morning when we see all the corrosive poo they left on our car overnight lol

Boats have less of a chance to capsize if they are pointed directly at the wave. You will see a lot of tankers and cargo ships drive straight into waves. This is why. Had the boat been vertical, it would have gotten water and pushed but not rolled.
