You can Google the incident reported on multiple news sources, and he's interviewed and admits that he lost his buoy the week before, decided to dive without it, and now regrets the stupidity of that decision. The diver was 100% at fault.

That wasn’t the boats fault at all - if you’re diving in open water, you should have a portable buoy that shows boaters divers are in that area of the water so they don’t boat into it. He is extremely lucky he wasn’t harmed by the boat.

My sister had something similar happen with a jet ski. She fell off of hers after a big wave bumped her off (she was a child so she was small and flew right off). Her life jacket brought her to the surface but only to see a jet ski coming right at her. My mom was screaming and waving her arms at the women on the other one to stop. They saw her at the last second and even hit the edge of her shoulder. That’s how close she was to likely dying or a serious injury.

That happened to me once with a Jetski. I was freediving and i started to hear its engine but because sound waves act different than in the air, you can’t really tell how far is it or from which direction it’s coming, it just feels near you although it can be still really far. Anyway, i decided to stay underwater because i was convinced it’s so near, but i went out of breath and started swimming up and the sound just kept getting louder, that’s when I knew i messed up and my calculations were wrong. Sure enough, the moment my head reached the surface a big water splash hit me in the face and the Jetski went a few inches next to me. I believe i dodged death or some severe head injury that day…

I actually carry a small paintball gun loaded with pink unwashable paint with me when kayaking, specifically because jetskis and powerboats are so often crewed by anti-socials who like to blast through swimming areas or pass as close to you as possible. If I'm going to get tipped over into the water because of them, I want them to have a few hours cleanup time or a LOT to explain to the rental company for my inconvenience. Only needed it once in the whole last season so far though. Not everybody with such a boat is a bellend, but all bellends use such a boat.

He told that he was coming and which side and he went on to the powder to go past, so he was far enough how you should be when taking over. Both of the kids decided for some reason turn and go straight into the pow. He didn't push them and he is not responsible for them. This is a fine learning experience for the kids. Don't fuckin turn in to the snowpile sillys :D
