Yes, I would also ban those. But it is true that under normal circumstances it should be possible for students to wait until the break between lessons and thus not disrupt the class. So a general rule, that you can only go to the bathroom between lessons would be no problem in my opinion, if it has exceptions for emergencies.

I had a teacher in kindergarten prevent me from going to the bathroom, it was in a French emersion school. Apparently, the teacher wanted me to ask in French, but I had no idea how to as I was still learning. I made a huge puddle on the classroom floor, and she tried to make me mop it up. I refused to the point she called in my mother. Like, idk what she expected? My mother rung her out over that bs. Having locks on bathroom doors is just bonkers to me. I don't understand how people think kids can hold it in, it just isn't good at all!

Honestly what if the students really needs to poop. I know that enough people can’t do that in 4 minutes, especially under pressure.

We the most ghetto school here, but even the teachers felt our plight bro. The school moved onto 'limited bathroom passes', some of the teachers printed extra just so we can use the bathroom. When covid hit and we got dunked on by grades, the boards granted us a pass on any Fs or Ds. The problem was that they made it due in a week once it was announced, it was made worse when they told us so late we had only 2 days to fill the form, even when half of the school was still sick. The teachers were in an uproar and beraded the board until they gave us an extra month to submit our forms. In short, screw the boards.

Someone commented that they actually go to that school and the gates are only down for 4 minutes at the beginning and ending of class, which makes sense to me.

I hope they went right to the office of the person who made that rule and turned it into a bathroom.

With the cruise door one, I know very well about it. I’ve been on so many cruises and let me tell you, ALWAYS close and lock the balcony door before opening the stateroom door, especially on sea days or when there is a lot of wind. The rush of air is nothing to joke about if you have belongings outside. They can be flown out of the ship and into the water it goes. Thankfully never had this experience but it’s something to know about

Dude, this pretty much happened to me, during summer everyone was constantly vandalising the bathrooms, or going mid lesson, so they installed keycard lock doors. It sucked, although eventually they literally just got rid of the doors entirely.

Not only is the bathroom thing draconian in itself, I can't imagine it actually "works" to any good effect for the classrooms. If you have a school of hundreds and everyone is united in having FOUR minutes to rush in, there's going to be moments its way too busy and people are running late to get in and out. You've literally made a sudden bottle-neck demand time for masses to use the restrooms. Not to mention staff inconvenience, health issues, etc. Its just another way in which you have to question if the school administration is smart enough to run any form of education for the next generation.

A teacher scolded me for going to the bathroom once. My parents had to talk to the entire administration because I stopped going at school and ended up getting severe constipation which resulted in multiple ER visits. After that, I had a free hall pass to go whenever I needed to. I remember missing an entire musical during a field trip because I was on the toilet in pain. It's not fun on my side. The gates on those doors makes me so sad.

Some parts in Vegas actually have management come up to you whenever you win a jackpot to make sure you leave the premises as soon as possible. The owners said its to make sure you don't get mugged but a friend of mine won $260,000 and said they brought him to a VIP lounge to pay taxes and giving him the option to put it in the bank directly. They also opted him to keep playing in another branch of theirs in the area but he refused. Though whether he refused or not, he'd still get kicked out either way

0:40 Id recommend updating your school material you know pencils, pens and stuff to include a battery powered angle grinder. You know just in case you wanna use the damn toilett. Also use safety gogles and ear protection and non fabric based safety gloves. Angle grinders are really loud and throw a lot of sparks but you will get used to them after using one once or twice. Just keep a steady grip on the thing always get the cutting disk spinning before you cut and when you remove it from what you wanna cut never stop the disk yourself just let it idle out. Also make sure to have the battery charged so the disk doesnt get stuck whilst cutting and always cut in short straigt lines. And ofcourse, have fun.

Locking bathrooms is a bad idea. I remember one time in first grade my teacher was scary and she banned anyone from going to the restroom during class. One day this one girl who sat near me pissed all over herself at her desk and everyone turned and looked at her horrified, no one was laughing. The teacher started yelling "WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME YOU NEEDED TO GO?!" and that girl started tearing up and said "But you told us we can't go..."
