A lot of people I come across who say that children need to be disciplined and parents shouldn't be so nice are the type of people to advocate hitting their child, saying it'll teach them to do as their told, or it'll make sure they think twice before doing something again. Which doesn't teach them how to discern right or wrong or how to navigate life. It only teaches them to be scared or else, and is abusive. To me, discipline for this situation would be to figure out what happened (which the woman was doing before the video cut), then figure out how to avoid it in the future, and have the child take responsibility for the damages in some way. Something like this, which is clearly an accident, doesn't need to be overly corrected. We're all human. We all make mistakes. The best discipline is to deal with the consequences directly tied to said mistakes when it happens. My initial question was trying to figure out where you stood on that before I made assumptions based on past experience.

But you're right, I definitely misrepresented that aspect. On that note I'd point again to the example I gave that explains it a bit better, being clothing brands. People tend to value clothing based on how well known the brand is and how expensive it is more so than they do the looks alone.

I don't think most people care if they have a art by a famous artist or a random artist, so long as it looks good. The rich few who do care is what drives the price. As far as I know, there is no counter balancing measure that lowers the price because most care about quality rather than maker. For the vast majority of art work the quality is the value, probably. So, I disagree with typically.
