Also, pretty much everybody has access to hand sanitizer these days, which removes marker stains easily, and quickly.

That trick they used is also a great way to get rid of spray paint. If you spray over it with fresh spray paint, it will soften the problem paint , and then you wipe both off with alcohol cleaner

I looked into the toilet business, and so did a university, so they did a study where they collected the bacteria from prodominantly toothbrusehs. There was mostly oral bacteria, and while they did find bacteria that could also be found in the gut, but they didn't find gut bacteria exclusively to the gut. Which one would expect to find on a toothbrush if flushing caused "spray". So you could say that if you want a nice clean toothbrush you should change it every few months to prevent a huge buildup.

This is why I close my toilet seats at home before I flush.

If you re-wet the mark with the same marker, then wipe it off fast, that works sometimes, or just use something like Goof-off, that stuff works great.

Side note on the toilet thing : Most of the particles you see with the lasers are just water droplets. Mythbusters did a whole episode about this and the bathroom is not any worse than your kitchen sink. Edit : for those saying water has shit and pee in it, if it does it's in a small enough quantity that your kitchen sink has more crap particles than your toilet seat.

@zafar5059 Nah, on its own a toilet lid is weak as a security device, hence why I use Grade 8 Alloy Steel Short-Link Lifting Chain to secure it and make sure I am the sole user of my shtter. I also mounted a second lid that is bolted shut just in case. Takes a while when the nature calls, but it is worth it. Better safe than sorry.

For the permanent marker on a whiteboard: rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer will also work. The reason the dry-erase-marker works is because both it and the permanent marker use the same kind of solvent, so drawing over the permanent marker with it will disolve the ink it again in the solvent and you can wipe it all away as long as it is still wet

The issue with the IPA though is that it can destroy the quality of the board and make it unwriteable. This is what happened to my dorm whiteboard... The whiteboard marker trick is better for that reason

We've been using the dry-erase marker trick to erase any accidental permanent ink on whiteboard since years ago. Alcohol can, indeed, erase permanent marker ink on whiteboard, but it also damages the surface of the whiteboard, leaving behind dark smudges and residue even when using whiteboard markers afterwards. So, it's best to avoid alcohol on whiteboard surfaces.

If it was then food theft would be easier, solve your needs without having to go out and find someone to buy your stolen goods, and far less likely to get you a felony conviction. For instance, stealing about $1000 worth of goods can get you a felony theft conviction in the US. If those were newer phones, and he stole two of them, he's looking at well over $1000 worth of stolen goods. Someone stealing to survive wouldn't be so stupid as to risk serious crimes to do so. And even IF he was struggling financially, there are tons of ways to survive without crime. Food banks, government assistance, resources to help homeless folks find a place to stay, and plenty more options to help struggling people.

It was a nice thing to do, sure, but it didn't leave him accountable for his actions. And I guarantee had he come in with a weapon and attacked or threatened to attack that shop owner, he would've been singing a completely different tune. And that's what happens. You let criminals get away with stuff without consequences and even rewarding them, you end up seeing criminals perform far worse and eventually they do something that they can't come back from. Thats those toilets that have a really strong flush like the ones you find in public restrooms and they usually don’t have lids. Most household toilets aren’t that violent when flushed. Still, flushing with the lid closed is the best practice. I’d be more worried about the urine and diarrhea splatters that go everywhere before the flush. The average male that pees standing up over a toilet will make a lot more mess than flushing the toilet. That’s coming from a male with a cleanliness OCD.
